Lenna is a well-paid high-status office worker with a management job that does not fulfil her creative yearning, makes her work increasingly long hours, and does not let her reach her full professional capabilities. Her long-time boyfriend Markus has suggested finding a new hobby to express her creativity. She found a vocal ensemble that organises one-day-choirs where total strangers learn to sing popular songs and immediately perform them. This appealed to Lenna greatly due to a decade spent in a girls’ choir where she found most of her current friends. After a few events she found greatly satisfying, Lenna talks about her profession and personal struggles, to which one of the professional choristers that organise these events replies that they urgently need a manager for an upcoming year-long world tour, as without them the choir will likely have to cancel it which would be financially disastrous and may lead to ending the project. Coincidentally, the stops on that world tour almost exactly match Lenna’s travel bucket list. Soon after, Lenna is offered that job. Taking it requires quitting her current job (something she has thought of before but never dared to follow through on), and very uncertain chances of getting back into that industry. The choir job pays substantially less than your current one, and is compatible with singing in the choir. Both Lenna and Markus believe she is qualified for it, but Lenna is afraid this will strain her relationship with Markus even more, as she knows quality time is his key love language.
